You may have heard of the “Science of…” in other disciplines, but they’ve never been a perfect match for the evidence about second language learning. It was past time for the languages to have our own “Science of,” so here it is: an evidence-based guide to the component parts that influence language acquisition, inside or outside a classroom setting.
These components can now be used to build more effective teaching materials, trainings, and policies to support second language learning in our educational institutions.
On our main page, you’ll see the evidence broken down into five sections: Language proficiency, input, interaction, output, and intercultural communicative competence. Take a peek and let us know what you think! (info AT teachingsolved DOT com)
